• IDS is a locally produced option that offers great affordability as a brand. It is widely distributed, having a substantial number of panels installed countrywide. With panels that allow for between 8 and 64 zones, this choice does not provide the same functionality as Paradox and Jablotron, but nevertheless remains a quality choice for those who do not want or don’t require the scalability or customisation offered by the other brands.
• Paradox is a dependable brand that is a preferred choice by many countrywide. It is priced ideally for the middle to upper market and the product quality is undisputed. This installation includes the provision of panels; these may be wired or wireless, with wireless costing more. The range can span from 8 to 32 zones within a household environment, to solutions ideally designed for large buildings requiring over 190 zones to besecured.
• Paradox relies on a GSM system that enables remote monitoring – including via the internet using an application for PCs, laptops, Tablets, Smartphones or other smart devices.
• Jablotron was introduced into the South Africa landscape within the last three years, while being a popular choice on a global platform for a number of years. With wired and wireless panels that can secure from 32 to 50 zones on an entry level, all the way to 120 zones on the higher end, this option remains one of Forcefield’s popular installations. These systems offer a great degree of flexibility and value-added benefits in terms of home automation. For instance, sensors and controls can be programmed to do everything from turning on lights and the pool pump, to monitoring temperatures in set areas. This is also a GSM based system, thus all of the above can be handled remotely via cell phone.
